This site is a set of static files. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter, so there is nothing here to submit and nothing for us to store about you. We set no cookies and run no analytics. The two things worth knowing: product thumbnails are loaded from Amazon's servers, and the links to shops are affiliate links.
The operator of this site publishes The Daily Watch at thedaily.watch, and is the controller for the limited processing described below.

No user accounts. No contact forms, comment boxes or sign-ups. No advertising network, no analytics or measurement script, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no cookies of our own. We do not build profiles, and we have nothing to sell or share, because we hold nothing.
The web server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs, as essentially every web server does. A log line records your IP address, the time, the page requested, the response status, and the browser and referring page your browser reported. These logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and they are not used to identify individual readers or combined with anything else.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept only as long as they are useful for that and are then deleted.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in
your own browser under the key tdw-theme. It is stored on your
device, never transmitted to us, and holds nothing but the word
light or dark. Clearing your browser's site data
removes it. Because it is set only when you press the button and does
nothing but remember that press, it does not require a consent banner —
which is why you have not been shown one.
Product thumbnails are not copied onto this site; they are loaded directly from Amazon's image servers when the page renders. That means your browser makes a request to Amazon, and Amazon can see your IP address and browser details as a result — before you have clicked anything. We do not control and cannot see that request. Amazon's own privacy notice governs it.
Links to marketplaces carry an Amazon Associates tag, so if you buy something after following one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The tag tells Amazon the visit came from this site; it does not tell us who you are. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy and their cookies, and we no longer have any part in it.
Prices and availability shown here are whatever the shop displayed when the page was built, and change without notice.
The site links out to its profiles on social platforms. These are plain links: nothing from those platforms is embedded in these pages, so they learn nothing about you unless you choose to follow the link.
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy. Since the only personal data here is a server log line, in practice a request means asking us to look for and delete log entries from your IP address. You may also complain to your data protection supervisory authority.

This site is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, for the reasons given above.
